Sadly I have to announce that our Danish consulate is closing with immediate effect.

The reason is that the Canadian authorities have decided that a Consulate can only be in the town where the honorary consul resides, and in this case, it is in Edmonton.

At the same time, the Danish Embassy could see that the office in Calgary was used by so few people that there was no basis for reopening a separate Danish honorary consulate in Calgary because today, many things can be dealt with over the Internet and passports can be sent directly to our home address.

Mary Williams will be at the office in Calgary the week out for very urgent matters.
